Don't you go and name him! He is a wild rabbit! He is not a pet! Got it!? Mom are you listening?
My Mom – give me strength! Papa shows her a baby rabbit the other night that is eating her bushes. HE IS EATING HER BUSHES! That is not a nice thing that he is doing. He is sitting in the middle of the driveway cleaning his face – probably after making a meal on what is left of her plants! I say get a gun! Let's have rabbit stew! Rabbit is good eating!
OH Crap! I recognize that look on Mom's face!
OK so maybe he is cute with those really big ears. Mom says he is a Jack Rabbit...OH GOD...here it comes...she is going to name him – Jack!
You know what happens after you name something don't you? Yep food. Now Mom feels responsible for him. She went out for rabbit food. She told Papa it was to keep him from eating her plants...yea right! So last night she put out greens, rabbit pellets and of course fresh water for....oh give me strength – Jack.
Will someone tell this woman that it is a wild rabbit and can take care of itself!
WHAT IS THAT SMELL? Can't be the rabbit pellets, can it? Mom and Papa left us alone for hours to run some errands and whatever they got must have gone bad while they were enjoying a long dinner without us...What fun is dinner without all of us sitting by their elbow watching them - hoping for just a small taste. Plus, when you eat out they don't give you dog hair with your food...now how sad is that!
OK the smell....it has a familiarity to it. Simon has got his nose in the air. His eyes looked like they are glazed over...Nico is even smelling the air. He is getting all excited...which by the way...I think he is getting hormones...don't tell Mom but I think her baby is growing up...he tried to lift his leg out in the dog run yesterday...he wasn't very successful!! Makes for a good laugh to watch him!
OK OK OK...I know you want to get upstairs to see if “Jack” ate his food last night...back to the smell...
What the heck..I know exactly what it is...a bully stick! You boys gross me out!! You better chew that down in Mom's office when I am not there!
Yuck and double yuck!
This is my life. My name is Gigi.
P.S. Hey Nico...If you can find me just a little bully stick...I guess I could chew on it in Papa's office.

( 2.9 / 74 )WOW! Papa has been with Mom for 24 years!! That is like an eternity in dog years! And he is still smiling! Got to give the man credit....
Hey, it is my anniversary too you know!
Yes, but I live with you...I know you...Papa has to be a brave and strong man to survive you!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PAPA! I love you!
You too Mom! You can have the day off!! As soon as you finish the laundry, wash a dog, go walk 2.5 miles and make Papa breakfast!
Thank you...just so you know...Papa and I are going out to dinner. HE appreciates me.
Oh Sure...like did you not see I ate breakfast without fingers or coaxing this morning! I appreciate you! Just wait until tomorrow morning!
This is my life. My name is Gigi.

( 2.9 / 106 )A boyfriend! You want me to find a boyfriend? What is that suppose to mean? I have to get tested?? For what? I could get married and have babies? You think you can just spring this one on me. No warning? No conversation? And just where do babies come from anyway?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Oh No! Not me! No Way! Think again lady!
Gigi, we are just talking about it. It won't happen for at least six long months. We, Claire and I, are just thinking about it and looking around for a handsome young man – certainly we would ask your opinion and he would have to meet with your approval.
I am not going to discuss this with you...end of story – next topic!
Boy the house sure got quiet. The girlies go home? It was hard trying to keep an eye on not only the girls but Andrea too. Talk about a spoiled puppy! She takes the cake. When she first got here I thought I would have to stuff her mouth with my fist! I sat her down and gave her a good talking too! Finally, I got her to settle down. I assured her that her girls although they would be in and out of the house alot - sometimes gone for hours...leaving us alone and worried - all by ourselves, with no human company, having fun in a pool and shopping...
We get the point Gigi - move on!
Anyway...they would not leave for home without her...My Mom assured me of that! She finally did settled down. Boy she sure doesn't like Nico, especially when he sits on 'her' Moms' lap! Little green eyed monster behind those cute brown eyes.
I am sure, after a long nap, I will miss her. I already miss the girlies!
What do you mean not for long? They are coming back already? When? Just Abigail? Andrea too? Oh Geez Mom!! I like Abigail...Andrea – OK, I will just have another good long talk with her! My duties as Queen never seem to end.
By the way, does Nico know about your plans for me?
This is my life. My name is Gigi.

( 3 / 73 )Busy is no excuse! I really need a 'professional' secretary! Any volunteers?
I have been waiting to tell you...Now all of you that know me ...know that I am not a complainer! I just run with the flow of things. I'm very congenial to the other guys that live here with me too.
Having said that....WHO GAVE THE CATS BED RIGHTS? I went to get a drink in the middle of the night and couldn't get back into bed. Frankie had his boney little backside planted on the ottoman. He won't let me pass him! Can you believe that? He would not let me get in bed. Mom and Papa were sleeping and I, moi, me was stuck on the floor. OH don't worry! It wasn't for long. I whined until Papa woke up! I told them that Frankie wasn't just sitting there looking at me. Every time I went to jump up he gave me what is affectionately called the 'silly slap'. So maybe there are no claws involved but I couldn’t get pass him! Mom says that even if I am the Queen...my rule doesn't include the cats. They are a whole different story.
Papa has been working really hard in my dog park! He moved the fort and turned it into a planter with a mighty fine looking tree. I think when it is all done we should have a ribbon cutting ceremony. There is a big rock on the planter that Mom is going to paint - “Gigi's Park 2012”.
“Gigi's Park”. I have my own park! WOW! I must be very special! Tricia says I am very spoiled. What does she know!
If I was truly spoiled, I would have gotten to go to the Water Park yesterday! Instead of having to monitor the going ons around here! With Papa working and Mom off galivanting, I was stuck having to keep Simon and Nico in their place. It is not easy being the Queen. I do have responsibilities...I have to monitor everything that goes on around here...not an easy job! Sure and then I had the added responsibility of checking on Papa to make sure he was OK out in my park...hauling dirt and planting trees. Mom said to check occasionally to make sure he was still breathing and not laid out on the ground from exhaustion! It was a highly stressful day for me.
All the while Mom is out riding a lazy river having fun! Although, she said she wasn't so sure just how 'lazy' a river it was. She had to work really hard to get around it. She helped the girls check out some boys! Oh sure - do you really think it is a good idea to encourage those girls – even if one of the boys WAS really, really cute!! You really should have taken me with you...sounds like you needed an 'adult' for a chaperone!
Well don't think you are going anywhere today. I am taking the day off!!
This is my life. My name is Gigi.
THAT IS MY TREE! MOVE YOUR BOTTOM AND FAST!! Standing there like he owns the place. What nerve!!

( 3 / 89 )Yes, I went to the dog show! Yes, I walked on grass! Yes, I had to take care of Nico! NO – I did not have a good time!
Well maybe at the hotel – in bed laying close to Mom and Papa...and I did get them both to jump through hoops to get me to eat. But come on – grass, little burrs that got stuck in my hair...staying in a crate while either Mom or Papa were in the ring. This sound like fun to you?
Mom says we got our little butts kicked royally Friday and Saturday! Friday AND Saturday....two days!! Saturday was the worst for Mom. Clarice looked and acted good...Mom says she always does! The Judge only liked handlers...there were two people in the ring that were not professional handlers – give you one guess who they were...for sure Mom was one, the other was her friend's husband Charlie. The judge dismissed them!
Mom just looked at Charlie – then the judge. Like really could you be more obvious? Mom says he is lucky she has a good sense of humor about dopey judges!!
Nico and Papa weren't doing any better...so I decided I had to take control and give Nico a pep talk! It went something like:
“Look Squirt, get your act together. I have to walk on grass that kills my feet. You can handle walking around the ring! Get that tail up and look perky in the ring. You can do it! For heaven sake - we are here BECAUSE OF YOU! Keep your eye on Papa and when the judge goes to touch your – you know – private parts...just let him. Show those pearly whites and for pete's sake don't bite him! Don't worry about the other dogs...you are much better than they are...NOW GET WITH THE PROGRAM! Hold up our Panetti name!! You do a good enough job and I'll let you beat me up...maybe”
I knew I had to sit ring side with Mom this time. I put on the most pitiful act I could muster. Kind of thinking it was the really loud whining that did it – she let me sit with her. Good thing too...I had to give Nico the 'eye' several times while he was in the ring! He was not there to smell the grass or look at the big ship in the water...some boat called the "Queen Mary"! Personally, I think it would have been much better if they called it the Queen Gigi! Anyway, he can do that after he wins!
Nico you are the man! You won your class. (OK so you had been winning your class the other days too) but this time when you went around the ring with all the other winners...you looked like a professional...you made Papa look good! Tail up, head up - that's my little man!
And what do you know! He takes a FIVE point Major win! As I understand it – that is the best you can do for points at one show.
Although I am not very fond of dog shows...I guess if we expect Nico to keep winning I am going to have to travel with him – keep him focused...and keep my eye on Papa.
Being home is the best. Being in Cedar is even better. The air is cool. I am going to need several days of rest to get over all the work I had to do with the Squirt!
The sacrifices a woman has to make!
This is my life. My name is Gigi.
